Today May 25th’s late spring garden haul after the full moon included 5 vine ripened tomatoes. 2 counter ripened cherry tomatoes, 3 jalapeños, 12 shishitos, hand full of basil, hand full of scallion and 20 Peaches
Less than a tenth of what we harvested last year. I can only assume we dropped from 366 peaches to 20 because of a lack of pollination due to an over abundance of rain this spring that has not only prevented us from keep the grass tame in comparison to last year’s dry season in which the grass simply said nope not growing 😐 not happening. This great change shows how the simplest of shifts in conditions can have great effects. Last year the peaches were small and not very sweet. This year they are double the size and taste taste is yet to come as we haven’t allowed branch ripening rather being they were so few we picked them all one time to counter ripen. I think its also important to note they been picked 15 – 20 days earlier than last years June 10th thru 15th harvesting.
